Serendipity
The word serendipity is defined as “the phenomenon of finding valuable or agreeable things not sought for” (Merriam-Webster). On Fridays, our family does pizza, popcorn and movie night. One night I noticed a tapestry (or maybe it was a woven rug) hanging in the background of a scene. I jumped up and said “That has to be made into a quilt!” After the eye rolling and complaining of my fellow movie watchers stopped (in their defense, it was an intense scene), I took a picture that turned out so blurry and distorted but sparked some thoughts of a quilt design. That design became Serendipity. The moral of this story is to keep your eyes open because you can find a quilt design just about anywhere – even in the background of a movie!
