Gentle Wind - A Jelly Roll Quilt
When my son was age 3, I had a client’s quilt to finish up on my longarm and no time to do it. When chaos finally quelled for a hot moment, I tried to finish it up. Wouldn’t you know, that was when my sweet boy wanted attention. So, I cut thin 15” strips of fabric and tied them to the grates of an area fan. I turned the fan on and watched my son laugh and giggle as the fabric strips flew into the air. It entertained him long enough so that I could finish the quilt. When I designed this quilt, I recalled that wonderful memory, and so I named it Gentle Wind. Maybe I should’ve named it Cutest Boy In The World instead!
